We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team as a Unit Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the care provided to residents in your unit, ensuring both high-quality care and smooth daily operations. The ideal candidate will have a passion for resident care, supervisory experience, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:
As the Unit Manager, you will be actively engaged in all aspects of resident care. Your duties will include conducting walking rounds to ensure proper care and addressing incidents, preparing responses to reports for the Director of Nursing (DON), and participating in daily interdisciplinary team (IDT) meetings. You will also be responsible for updating care plans based on resident assessments, managing follow-up tasks from meetings, and ensuring care plans are properly implemented.

In addition to your leadership role, you will attend care conferences, collaborate with the wound physician on weekly wound rounds, and ensure proper documentation of wound care, walking programs, and repositioning. You'll address family concerns, adjust staffing when needed, and maintain consistent communication with the nursing team. You will work closely with the DON to ensure compliance with regulations, provide staff education, and assist with corrective actions when necessary. Additionally, you will be part of the on-call schedule as required by facility policy.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with an active RN or LPN license in the State of Wisconsin.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare or public nursing practices, with leadership and supervisory experience.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Capable of performing physically demanding tasks such as heavy lifting and extensive bending.
  • Sufficient visual and hearing abilities to ensure comprehensive patient care.
